In a reverse of November’s edition, it’s the stock market sectors occupying the top places while bond sectors dominate the dud sectors for December.

- A duo of thematic sectors, Healthcare and Infrastructure. Relatively small sectors –
just 15 and 16 funds (greater than £50m) respectively.
- Following declines in three successive months, Latin America is up nearly 4%.
- UK Smaller Companies have bounced back from a dip in November.
- Global Equity Income makes up the remaining top place, up 3.94%.
What’s Not
- The greater likelihood of earlier interest rate rises has hurt bonds.
- A pair of European bond sectors feature.
- The two UK Gilts sectors have tailed off after some gains in October and November, most notably UK Index Linked Gilts sector which is down 5.76%.
- China has had a tough month but also a tough year, down more than 3% over the former and down 15% over the latter.
