What's HotWhat’s Hot

  • Gold was on a tear, as you can see.
  • 5 of the top 10 are gold and metals funds…
  • …Price Value having 75% in this asset class.
  • The other 5 funds are focussed on tech…
  • …you wouldn’t normally expect such a correlation between gold and tech.
  • Both uptrends are a bit stretched, at least in the short term.

What’s Not

What didn’t go down!  Some cross-section, all down by 5% or more

  • UK and European property are worst, with doubts either rates going much lower, or any recovery, or both.
  • This negativity fed through into some UK and European equity funds.
  • Three Japan funds also feature, still struggling post the August “flash crash”.
  • One India fund is a symptom a little broader weakness in the sub-continent.
  • And the single gilt fund reflects doubts over the long-term path for UK inflation.
