What’s Hot

  • China dominates the top spots, particularly large cap funds as sentiment improves and the government continues to ramp up stimulus efforts.
  • As often happens, China’s strength lifts the wider region with Man Asia Equity fund (+35% China exposure) and Redwheel Global EM (+32% China exposure) benefitting.
  • Europe makes an appearance with two mid-cap, value style funds as Germany, Italy and Spain among others have all enjoyed a strong start to 2025.

What’s Not

  • The US takes a hit with 6 out of the 10 worst performers over the month. US smallers have fared worse than their large cap peers as risk appetite shifts away from small caps.
  • It’s no surprise then to see Baillie Gifford Global Discovery in the dud list too given its small cap focus and 67% exposure to the US.
  • India remains under pressure, facing another tough month as foreign money continues to flow out, dragging down major Indian funds which once again feature among the worst performers.
